Award Recognition – Level 3 Grooming Best Student! 

Exciting news!

I am incredibly proud to announce that I have been selected for the Level 3 Grooming Best Student – Huntingdon award by The College of Animal Welfare!

This recognition means so much to me and reflects the hard work, dedication and passion I have put into developing my skills and knowledge in professional dog grooming.

I have always believed that grooming is about so much more than making dogs look beautiful. It is about understanding their individual needs, prioritising their welfare and ensuring every dog receives patient, compassionate and professional care.

To have my commitment recognised in this way is a truly special moment in my grooming journey.

I will be attending The College of Animal Welfare’s annual Student Awards Ceremony on 7th November, where I will officially receive my award.

I am so grateful for everyone who has supported me along the way, and especially to my wonderful clients who trust me with their much-loved dogs.

This achievement motivates me even more to continue learning, improving and providing the highest standards of care for every dog that visits my salon.

I spent my Bank Holiday doing something special — making these gorgeous First Groom Rosettes ready for all of my little puppy visitors!

Your puppy only gets one first groom, and I wanted to create something to celebrate that milestone and make it even more memorable.

Thank you to everyone who attended today’s Emmi-Pet dog teeth cleaning clinic at Barkley Grange Doggy Day Care, Hilton.

This clinic runs monthly, and is designed to support dogs through structured Emmi-pet ultrasonic cleaning, rather than a one-off visit.

It was particularly good to see a young one-year-old dog attending — early introduction to dental care is extremely important. Prevention and early desensitisation help dogs become comfortable with the process and support better long-term oral health.

Every dog begins with an initial consultation, and Emmi-Pet deep clean, and leave with a recommended homecare plan. From there, we work through a series of ongoing maintenance treatments delivered across our monthly clinic dates.

Progress is achieved session by session — consistency is essential, and the monthly clinic structure allows that consistency to be maintained.

Many owners do not realise that plaque and tartar can build up gradually. By the time it becomes obvious,

By popular demand, I have added a one-hour dog visit service, available exclusively to existing Chloe’s Dog Grooming clients and by prior agreement with Chloe.

This service is assisted during non-term time by my daughter Pippa, when she is home from university. Pippa has been raised around animals her entire life — dogs, horses and chickens — and grew up on a busy commercial livery yard we owned at home. Like me, she is experienced in caring for both family and client animals, and we are both fully insured.

Visits may include a garden toilet pop-in, or a walk on lead (solo, or with our own small dog if suitable). This service is strictly for well-behaved dogs that are regularly groomed by me!

Bookings are to be made online in the usual way, please just select the service category “Pet services – Exclusive to Chloe’s Dog Grooming Clients”

This service is ad-hoc as required, using the same online booking and live availability, to ensure it’s fitted around my grooming schedule. If you have specific regular days you require it’s best to keep bookings at least one month ahead.

Charlie’s Dog Training Centre, Emmi-Pet Teeth Cleaning Clinic update

Chloe’s Dog Grooming was the first clinic in a series delivered at Charlie’s Dog Training Centre, they provided a super light Polly tunnel to work in, with plenty of space, some owners stayed and we treated 5 lovely dogs for their first initial consultations, With gentle, calm handling even the nervous dogs managed just fine. 

For each dog their session included an oral check for any signs of discomfort, a full Emmi-Pet ultrasonic deep clean using a new brush head-allocated to each dog, and Orozyme Gel applied to continue working on getting rid of the plaque. Each dog took home their own tube of Orozyme Gel (received as part of their initial consultation) – to put on their dog’s teeth between cleans. 

It is recommended that all the dogs come back to next month’s clinic on January 3rd/4th for a maintenance clean to keep working on reducing the plaque.

Chloe is insured, and fully trained to provide Emmi-Pet Teeth Cleaning. Photos are taken as a record for each dog, to keep track of progress, you can view today’s on our gallery page here. As the clinics develop we will share before and after photos.

It’s been a busy few months both in the salon and in my studies! I’ve achieved my City & Guilds Level 2 Dog Grooming qualification, started my Level 3, and completed specialist training in Asian Fusion Styling and Tellington TTouch — helping every dog feel calm, comfortable, and cared for.

Expanding My Dog Grooming Expertise

I’m always looking for ways to bring even more care, comfort, and creativity to the dogs I groom — and I’m thrilled to share some exciting updates!

This month, I completed two specialist training programmes:

🐾 Introduction to Asian Fusion Grooming with Groomers Pro — a wonderfully expressive and stylish approach to grooming that focuses on personality and balance.

🐾 Tellington TTouch® Training with Xtra Dog Academy — an incredible one-day course exploring gentle, science-based techniques to help dogs feel calm, confident, and connected during grooming.

These new skills build on my Level 3 City & Guilds training and reflect my commitment to kind, professional, and compassionate care for every dog that comes through my doors.

And I’m not stopping there! I’ll soon be completing my Emmi-Pet Ultrasonic Dog Teeth Cleaning certification — so that I can offer a complete wellbeing service, from coat to teeth.

It’s all part of my promise to deliver the very best for your dogs — ensuring every visit is a positive, reassuring experience for them (and for you).

Arriving end of November

We’re adding Emmi-Pet Ultrasonic Teeth Cleaning – a gentle, brush-free way to keep your dog’s mouth clean and healthy.

Start with an Initial Consultation (£55), then book maintenance sessions as a stand-alone appointment (£30) or add-on to your regular groom (£20).

📅 Book online under our Online Booking page – either as a stand-alone service or, once your dog has had the initial consultation, as a discounted add-on to grooming appointments.

Regular sessions every 4–6 weeks are needed to maintain results – if appointments lapse, a new consultation will be required before resuming.

Feel free to enquire as it is impossible to list every breed I groom, which includes all sizes of dogs from extra small to extra large! Requiring a deshed, to others that require a natural trim, to a full clip off!
I include breed examples next to each service for sizing purposes when you book your appointment!

Add-Ons

We are excited to now offer a small selection of shampoos, including a mixing bottle to dilute correctly from the WildWash range of products that we use when grooming, including a silicone free detangle spray for customers to use on your puppies and dogs at home between grooms!

We also offer refills! 

All of these products can be found in “Add-Ons” when you book your grooming appointments, and will be ready to collect at your appointment.

Before today’s puppy groom we made the most of the sunshine and Chloe’s Dog Grooming squeezed in Two other 4 legged furry friends for a bath!

Miniature Shetlands Topaz and Paco, they enjoyed an end of summer bubble bath (not in the hydrobath), followed by mane plaiting to keep the thistles at bay!
