About Us & Qualifications

Chloe in dog grooming trailer

Welcome! I’m Chloe Giles — an entrepreneur, former NHS leader, and lifelong animal lover. We have a collection of 10 bantam hens (and one cockerel) that we raised from day olds, a Yorkshire terrier, and two miniature Shetlands who I enjoy carriage driving.

At Chloe’s Dog Grooming every dog is treated with patience, kindness, and genuine love for the craft. For me, grooming is more than just a trim; it’s about creating calm, compassionate experiences for every dog and owner I meet. I’m truly passionate about helping dogs not only look their best, but feel their best too.

To give every dog the highest standard of care, I’ve proudly built my skills through extensive professional training:

If you’d like to know more about who I am and why I love this work, just keep reading — I’d love to share my story below with you.

Alongside my husband Henry, a published author dedicated to fishing and countryside heritage, we’re proud to be building a life and business rooted in care, creativity, and community.

From Design to the Countryside

I began my career as a printing apprentice, mastering desktop publishing just as the industry embraced digital innovation. That journey led me to London, where I worked as a magazine designer — and met Henry, then a journalist.

After a successful move into media sales with Viacom Outdoor, where I won the “Budget Buster” award for generating over £1 million in record time, I attended a work conference in Gibraltar — where I not only gained recognition for my work but also won the company camel race. A fun moment that reflects my competitive spirit and sense of fun!

In 2003, I launched Gee Gee Images, offering equestrian media services and event photography. I was proud to be a finalist in the Everywoman Start-Up Award, recognising female founders and entrepreneurial leadership. I later diversified the business into equestrian-themed jewellery, before successfully selling the business.

Chloe and family

Our Life in Cambridgeshire

We moved to Cambridgeshire in 2005, to fulfil the dream of keeping my horse Calypso at home, and now our two miniature Shetlands.

And in 2007, our daughter Pippa was born at The Rosie Maternity Unit at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, where we would both later serve during the COVID-19 pandemic. Pippa was a rowing scholar at King’s School Ely and brings the same drive and heart to her pursuits that we value in our own work.

In 2008, Henry and I opened Pond House Stables — a British Horse Society-approved livery yard based at our home in Cambridgeshire. I completed my British Horse Society Level 3 qualification, Riding and Road Safety Instructor qualification, and Whilst Henry focused on his journalism, I provided full livery for nine horses, offering personalised, attentive care in a warm, inclusive setting. I’m incredibly proud of what we built — and of the strong relationships we formed within the local equine community. We sadly sold this home in 2017.

Henry Giles – Author & Fisherman

Henry is a published author dedicated to fishing and countryside heritage. He has written two celebrated books:
📘 How to Catch More Salmon
📘 The Secret Life of Salmon

Whether writing, supporting our ventures, or spending time outdoors, Henry brings thoughtfulness and to everything he does.

From Equestrian Life to Regional Publishing

In 2012, I founded eventswhatson.com, a regional lifestyle and events platform covering East Anglia and later expanded into the South of England. The site became a go-to guide for family-friendly entertainment, cultural events, countryside living, and local businesses.

Over the course of ten years, I grew the platform from a start-up to a well-established brand with thousands of monthly readers and loyal advertiser partnerships — blending my creative background with entrepreneurial drive. I sold the business in 2022, proud of the impact it made on local tourism and community visibility, and it’s still going strong today!

My NHS Chapter

In 2019, I joined Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, stepping into frontline work during the COVID-19 crisis. I worked emergency lines and night shifts — and was honoured along with incredible colleagues with the NHS COVID Star for my service.

My career at CUH spanned several leadership roles:
– PA to Senior Nursing Leaders
– Data Compliance Administrator (Blood Sciences)
– Communications Business Manager
– Oncology, Directorate Support Manager
– Trust Risk Manager (until May 2025)

During this time, I also chaired the REACH (Race, Equality, and Cultural Heritage) Staff Network, leading equality and inclusion efforts across the Trust. I also completed a Level 3 NHS Data Citizen apprenticeship and formal NHS Risk Management certification, strengthening my leadership credentials and policy experience. I also continue to offer mentoring support via my personal platform: https://cgmentoring.wordpress.com.

Puppy bathing

In July 2025, finally i’m returning to where it all began, and what I love — working hands-on with animals.

My journey into dog grooming first began at Spangleberry Kennels, where I spent weekends and holidays as a teenager walking, bathing, and grooming dogs — and enjoying time with the miniature Shetland ponies. I even used to bring my own pony to the farm during school breaks.

It’s also where I found Duster, my first dog — a West Highland White Terrier. I often puppy sat during lunch breaks and when Di (the owner) had to go out when they were newly born, so I met Duster at just a few days old, he was so sweet, and later used to come to work with me, he loved running around with his mum and siblings!

A big thank you to Terena, my friend from Spangleberry, who now runs her own dog grooming business after Di retired. Terena is also an excellent dog trainer, based in Surrey where we all grew up. Her support has meant the world as I’ve launched Chloe’s Dog Grooming — a place where every pet is treated with the love and care they deserve.

My new venture is a professional dog grooming service, combining formal training (I’m first aid trained, insured, and level 2 and 3 City & Guilds qualified) with years of real-world experience, compassion, and calm energy.

🐾 I have a fully equipped dog grooming trailer featuring the latest Spa Dog Pro hydrobath, delivering full grooming services from our purpose-built trailer, nestled in the scenic Fenland countryside, overlooking our ponies’ peaceful paddocks!

This is more than just a trim — it’s about doing something I love, creating calm, compassionate experiences for every dog and owner I meet.

Thank you for stopping by — whether you’re booking a Wash, Blow-dry & go, full grooming, or looking for teeth cleaning services — welcome!
